Cusco

Set high in the Andes of Peru, the city of Cusco is the longest continuously inhabited city in the Americas. A unique mix of modern and traditional enhanced by a rich cultural heritage make Cusco a melting pot of colour and texture. In the streets I am surrounded by Inca walls and Baroque architecture, my thoughts wandering between ‘how?’ and ‘wow!’ Friendly people, great food and excellent transport mean that the city is a pleasure to explore. The numerous festivals celebrated in the streets and plazas reveal the spirit and pride of the people, while travelling out of town quickly takes you off the beaten track into a world of spectacular scenery and ancient mysteries. As an explorer at heart, Cusco provides me with endless joy.
